Croxteth Hall Makers Market

Located in Liverpool, Merseyside.

Croxteth Hall Makers Market takes place in the grounds of Croxteth Hall — a magnificent country house estate on the northern edge of Liverpool that has belonged to the city since 1974 and now serves as a working farm, heritage attraction and public park for the whole of Merseyside. Bringing The Makers Market's programme of artisan traders, food producers and live music to this extraordinary setting gives the event a character that is genuinely hard to replicate — gracious grounds, open parkland and a hall that carries centuries of history.

Within the estate grounds you'll find local artisan makers selling handcrafted jewellery, ceramics, art, gifts, clothing and homeware alongside artisan food and drink — local bakers, speciality produce, sweet treats and independent drinks makers whose offer complements the estate setting beautifully. Live music adds to the atmosphere, making a visit to Croxteth Hall Makers Market feel like a proper day out rather than just a market trip.

Free to attend, the market is one of the most scenically generous in The Makers Market portfolio. The hall's walled garden, the farm animals, the miniature railway and the woodland walks are all available to explore alongside the market stalls, making Croxteth Hall an outstanding full-family destination for a market day.

About this area

Croxteth Hall is a country house estate in the north-east of Liverpool, set within 500 acres of parkland, woodland and farm that were for centuries the ancestral seat of the Earls of Sefton. The estate passed to Liverpool City Council in 1974 and has been managed as a public attraction ever since, with the hall, the walled garden, the home farm, a miniature railway and extensive walking routes all open to the public. It is one of the most significant green spaces in Merseyside.

The hall itself is a Grade II* listed country house with well-preserved Victorian and Edwardian state rooms open for visits. The Home Farm maintains a collection of rare breeds, and the walled garden has been restored to its Victorian productive garden character. The estate's woodland and parkland offer several miles of walking trails within the Liverpool boundary.

Croxteth Hall is located in the north-east of Liverpool and is best reached by car from the M57 and the East Lancs Road, with free parking available within the estate. Bus services run from Liverpool city centre to the nearby area. The surrounding area of north Liverpool connects to Knowsley Safari Park and the wider Merseyside countryside.
