Frodsham Artisan Market is one of Independent Street's most established and best-loved monthly events, taking place on the last Saturday of every month in the heart of this attractive Cheshire market town. Free to attend and running consistently through the year, it has built a loyal following across Cheshire and Merseyside and is frequently cited as one of the standout monthly markets in the Independent Street programme — a market that gets the formula right, month after month.

The stall mix is consistently strong: handcrafted jewellery, ceramics, textiles, homeware, art and gifts alongside artisan food and drink from local bakers, cheese and preserve makers, hot food traders and speciality drink producers. Main Street's independent cafés and pubs mean the market is easily extended into a full afternoon — browse the stalls, stop for lunch, then carry on exploring before heading home. The calendar is further enriched by the Frodsham Food and Drink Festival in June and a dedicated Christmas market in November.

Free to attend every last Saturday from June through December, Frodsham Artisan Market runs from 10am to 4pm. Frodsham is a historic market town in Cheshire West, set where the flat Cheshire Plain gives way to the dramatic sandstone ridge that runs through the county from north to south. The town's Main Street is broad and attractive, lined with independent shops, cafés and pubs, and Frodsham has resisted the homogenisation that has affected many similar market towns — its independent character remains very much intact.

Above the town, Frodsham Hill and the Cheshire Sandstone Ridge rise sharply to offer spectacular views across the Mersey estuary, the Runcorn Gap, the Cheshire Plain and — on clear days — the mountains of North Wales and the Wirral peninsula. The Sandstone Trail long-distance footpath passes through the town, connecting Frodsham to a chain of viewpoints, nature reserves and historic sites stretching south through Cheshire to Malpas.

The surrounding area of Cheshire West rewards exploration: Beeston Castle, perched dramatically on an isolated sandstone crag, is about fifteen miles to the south; Chester, with its medieval walls and cathedral, is accessible by bus; and Delamere Forest — the largest area of woodland in Cheshire — lies between Frodsham and Northwich. Frodsham is accessible by bus from Runcorn and Chester, with Frodsham railway station providing connections towards Warrington and Chester.
