The Whitworth holds an exceptional collection of textiles, watercolours, prints and modern art — including major holdings of Turner, Picasso and Hirst. The 600-acre estate encompasses formal gardens, a boating lake, a farm, Heaton Hall (a magnificent Grade I listed house) and the Heaton Park Tramway Museum with restored Victorian trams.
